Cupcake Lovers Home Office

Creating my Dream Cupcake Lovers Home Office

I am so excited about a new project I’m working on. It is creating a new Cupcake Lovers Home Office! My husband and I have always shared an office. Recently I mentioned remodeling our space and he said “What do you think about making one of the spare bedrooms into your very own office?” Unbelievably I had never even thought of it before. Here’s a photo of the current spare bedroom below.

(whoops should have ironed the beds before taking this picture)

Currently a Spare Bedroom

We bought a house with 4 bedrooms (master, 2 spare bedrooms and an office). We wanted extra rooms because my husband is English and he always wanted space for his family to come visit from the UK. Well they didn’t come as often as we hoped sooooo…..time to make one of the spare bedrooms into an office.

At first I was hesitant. But now I’m so excited!! We’ve always had very modern decor throughout our home. You know, lots of creams, browns and touches of color here and there. But when deciding on how to create my Home Office space, I decided I wanted to cupcake-fy it! Yes, I want a very girly, shabby chic, French-inspired and fashionable space for my Cupcake Lovers Home Office. This will mean incorporating lots of white, pink and maybe even some black. I am currently on the hunt for this pink damask wallpaper. I LOVE damask! Our Lu Lu Black and White Damask Cupcake Wrappers was the very first design we created. It is a bit of an addiction really!

The first thing I knew I wanted was a shabby chic, French-style, white desk. So I hopped online and onto good ol’ Craigslist and to my surprise I found a very shabby chic, French style desk which was exactly what I wanted. The best part…it was only 40 minutes away and $290. Although I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, I did do a lot of research to see what else was out there. Most everything lacked uniqueness and actually cost 2 to 3 times more.

I’m still in the planning phase of looking for other elements like the aforementioned Pink & White Damask Wallpaper, the perfect paint, French-Style white chair, white shelves, cupcake stand displays, artwork, etc and then it will really start to come together. I did find this beautiful white wood chandelier that will definitely be hanging above my new white desk. I’ve had it in storage from a couple years ago from Twelve Timbers.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying this desk in my newly emptied (soon-to-be) cupcake lovers home office space, typing this blogpost. Note: I’m happy to say the beds that were here before went to a happy home of two newly teenage girls who had outgrown their childhood beds and it’s been reported that they LOVE them (that always warms my heart).  I’ll keep you posted on this journey of making my dream cupcake lovers home office space.

I want to know, what is your dream office space? What elements would you add?
